Music fromaround the world

Ethno Catalonia is a project run by the Joventuts Musicals de Banyoles association. Every year they bring together between thirty and forty young musicians from around the world to share the traditional music from their home countries.

The youngsters participate in a residential course for ten days characterized by its open and horizontal organization and intercultural sensitivity. Each participant brings a traditional composition to show the rest of the group. This builds up a repertoire of folk music representing every continent, which the musicians rehearse and perform in public on a concert tour of Catalonia.

A unique opportunity to enjoy a wonderful musical journey through traditional music from around the world in a project based on the essential values of dialogue, tolerance and comprehension where music is a universal language capable of crossing any frontier.
